Your glockenspiel! Its sprung to life!

Bullet points today.

* When am I going to learn how to spell "Cincinnati" without a spell check?

* The second song that came up on my last.fm listening today was "Harriet's Got a Song" by Ben Kweller (a totally unfamiliar artist that came up when I said I wanted to listen to music like Belle & Sebastian. It features an excellent use of glockenspiel. And also a quote from Mr. Rogers ("Won't you be my neighbor?"). And, of course, an excellent title. If I could make head or tail of it, I'd make it the official song of my blog. It is, however, beyond elliptical.

* I've been having fun with last.fm, which I stumbled on via Frances Nash. It seems to come up with songs I like more regularly than Pandora's been doing lately. Instead of categorizing songs by characteristics that are sometimes contrived, it bases its associations of different musicians on what people who like certain artists like. My Belle & Sebastian request didn't turn up a lot of B&S clones. It turned up a lot of other bands I like: New Pornographers, Elliott Smith, Radiohead, the Magnetic Fields, The Shins, The Decemberists, Sufjan Stevens, Wilco, The Arcade Fire, The Talking Heads, Death Cab for Cutie, etc. The downside is that I've found the streaming to be less reliable than Pandora and the set-up is more labor intensive.

* The movie quiz is still going, if you want to take a crack at it. As of this posting, exactly half the movies have been identified. How can exactly half of 11 be identified, you might ask. One of the answers is incomplete. Click back for the updated info. I will add a couple of hints on any films remaining by the end of the day. But by then you'll probably all be sick of it already.
