Hey....knowing how you have a youngster who is very interested in science and such May 6th & 7th is the City's Kite Festival which is partnered with da Vinci Days and it's all free hands on science and inventing activities for kids. Oh and kite flying. As I'm sure you're a aware da Vinci was quite the man lots of interests across the board and it promises to be lots of fun. It's out on the front lawn of my place of employment for those two days. The festivals are both free and there is limited free parking and well you know where the train is. Just a thought. Oh and I know someone who can get you free admission to da Vinci exhibit which is quite interesting.

My husband actually had one of his lutes (his first lute, a tank among lutes) turned into a theorbo with a neck that is a dangerous weapon aimed at anyone sitting too close to his left side. Unfortunately, its never been played as we were unsuccessful in finding repertoire for him and me that incorporated it. But I know all about the tuning of gut strings. Oy. And lutes have double courses yet.

Poor husband--caught liking the out-of-tune selection--that's my department! I didn't know any of that about violas da gamba. Thanks.
