You and Lass have a similar tone today. Misty.

I dig the tone today. Actually, I think I recognized a couple of my favorite tricks in there. I particularly like the reference to wearing better shoes, it was a good closer.

I actually struggled with how to tell this story -- at first it kept coming out as, an "I met this story and he was an asshole and I didn't know who he was because I don't watch Oprah and doesn't that make me special" kind of story. Which wasn't at all what I meant. I ended up, I think, being influenced (although not intentionally so) by the fabulous writing going on at Julia's site (fairlywell.blogspot.com). Perhaps lass was influenced too. Or maybe there's just something melancholy and somewhat elliptical in the air.

"Purple People Eater" in the mail to AJ. (grins) I think it's awesome. P.S. Your description of me is kind, but I permanantly associate you with the "Ave" from "Tosca"...

Melancholy, checking in! And I want to second your comments on Julia - she needs to get an agent, no?
