The turtle line is classic and perfect. I'm so sorry about the diss woes...it sounds like an awful, depressing, frustrating feeling. Let me know if there's anything I can do. Please.

Sounds like you could do with a holiday in the beautiful Eastern Townships.

I like the line about catching a fish and throwing it back into the water...to be free and make more fish! Yeah...those puppet people in VT are so cool

Amen to that, sister! I feel very much the same way about my "novel" but it's worse because nobody on the planet gives a shit whether I finish it or not. It's not standing in the way of my career. It's just a nagging personal goal - a rock I step on every single day when I put on my shoes. And it's wedged up there too tightly to remove. Sigh.

That's so funny -- I heard that song this morning! And every time I hear it, I think it's "turtle"! Ha!

H - I have been to the bottom, the absolute depths of the diss gerbil (turtle) wheel - it's awful. Even if the worst happens, it's not the very worst. I still have my health, my home, the love of family and friends, etc. This is a long-winded way of saying that you're not inhaling lies, you're inhaling grace.
