Last night Dusty asked (again): "How many more weeks til kindergarten?" "3" "Awww!" She is SO ready. And yet, not. Growing up never gets easier.

A.J.'s name in Kanji would be a truly wonderful idea! And I'm sure he'd get a kick out of it. Heck, you could even figure out what Kanji exists for "Pluto", if it gets nixed, and have that on A.J.'s shirt! The teacher would never know. Mwah-ha-ha-ha-ha! :-)

Since when does sending a child to kindergarten require a stint in a gulag for the parents? Every crayon? Ye gods!

hm, there's no J in cyrillic...

True. But there is a Russian equivalent for the name that the J stands for. It would be nice to finally put my 3 years of college Russian to some kind of good use.

Librarians control the planet, didn't you know? :)

I've learned the hard way to always, always ask the librarian. They know a lot of shortcuts. Once in college the biology librarian saved me about five hours of research, and ever since then I'm a big fan.

i love how you represented your email convo with the librarian as a dialog. paraphrased, i assume? ------- (agh, no new paragraph capability in this) ------ i obsessively label, but it's only fun as long as i get to choose what to label. i think i'd want to rebel in your shoes too.
