I have sung in church choirs too, but I did listen to the sermon, if only because I kept picking holes in it, coming from a religiously different background. It sounds like you had marvellous outing.

If it was a suburban paper, it was the botched obit. His "better" obit is still online at the Chicago Tribune website, should you care to read it. Thanks for the note.

"Apparently fireworks are legal in Wisconsin, but conjunctions are not." ROTFL!!! And, yeah, nobody pays any attention to the sermon in our choir either. And fortunately, the one I sing in now is in a choir loft so nobody can see us doing our crossword puzzles, reading our books, and generally spacing out. The choir I grew up in, so to speak, sat directly behind the minister. I'm pretty sure no one paid any attention to the sermon anyway but one sure couldn't do crossword puzzles without someone's mama whipping one's bahooty afterward. Sounds like a fun trip. My brother lives outside of Madison now. We'll get up there someday.

Wow... you managed to visit Madison Wisconsin and did not stop at the USDA Barley and Malt Laboratory??? A crime, I tell you! A crime. Well, ok... maybe not... but there is a pic of it here here and a story about it here. Just in case anyone is interested.

Sounds like a nice trip. I'll pass on the hot dogs, though.

Laura--thanks for the corrected link -- I had seen the suburban edition. I'm glad to see the real thing. And Dr. Geek, I can't believe we missed the Lab! Next time. Although we did visit the steps of Science Hall, which looked exciting. Unfortunately, Science Hall seems to house not Science, but Geography. Go figure.
