You'll be just fine! Congrats to AJ on his first day of school.

My mom is an elementary music teacher and she has to travel between 2 different schools every single day. It just breaks my heart that they don't give the "electives" the respect the deserve! Now how the heck did you get AJ reading so soon?? I'm going to have nothing else to do, stuck here in Brazil, might as well start teaching my newborn, right ;)

It sounds like you took the right approach with his teacher. Get her on your (and AJ's) side from the beginning. And if you do cry, so what? There is no shame in such wistful tears. No harm in them either as long as AJ doesn't catch you doing it, I'd say. Good luck; you'll both do fine.

I don't know -- sending my oldest to kindergarten felt every bit as momentous as I imagine sending her to college will. I think it's because it's the beginning of their engagement with something much bigger. Congrats on AJ's first day!
