Yes, I was about to say the same thing. How very sad.

Farm machinery - looked like it might be used to harvest wheat. Maybe corn. soybeans? I was ten minutes late. The student gave up and left. I had an e-mail to say what happened, but nothing since. Would that I were Agatha Christie.

phew, a long arc in that post. at the beginning i was caught up by your idea for making a sort of "flow chart for determining what theyre hearing. Is it monophony? If yes, then its probably Medieval. If no, then proceed to the next question. That kind of thing." i had a terrible time in "music appreciation" - that would have been incredibly useful for me. i too need to freeze things in time. and then sad, the end.

Our inauguration was going to be outside but, because of the rain, they've moved it inside. I'll be watching it on closed-circuit tv at my office.
