I understand your concerns with assigning fair grades. I'm in an even weirder space with mine because it's so totally subjective, they don't have papers or tests to write, it's all about how much I think they've improved or their attitude or whatever. I can't really justify anything, and as a result I tend to grade higher than most of them probably deserve.

I can see why you'd be worried about grading fairly - but also, I bet any student who was invested in the class enough to find out what was important to you did well. That was a big thing to me in school, having it be possible to understand well enough to deserve an A. I wouldn't agonize over students who didn't make the effort, you know?
