I'll trade you cookie recipes for your fruitcake recipe...even though it takes a month.

re: #6, i don't have one favorite holiday food or meal so much as a favorite memory of a holiday meal. one year (i grew up in the seventies) we had fondue. i think i'll do an entry about it later this week. thanks for the inspiration. p.s. re: #1 - starbucks has kinda found a way to combine them - the eggnog latte. mmm.

Wow, how could I forget about the fondue? We used to have it every Christmas eve after we came back from caroling. I had forgotten all about it. And I thank my lucky stars that there's no Starbucks in my town or I'd be totally hooked on the eggnog latte. It is indeed, to misappropriate Candide, the best of all possible worlds.

As much baking as I do, my favorite cookie recipe is actually the one found on the back of the bag of Nestle's chocolate chips. Toll House CC cookies. They last about 54 milliseconds in our house.
