You know, the Fashion Mall in Indianapolis always did a great business on Rosh Hashanah. I think Kramer had something with Festivus.

But, if you believe there IS a God, then you have to also believe that he CREATED IKEA (which rules my world - I wish it wasn't 90 mins away)! Hey, will you pick up one of those $99 bunk beds for me? I'll pay you back (of course, delivery might be a problem).

I'm not an IKEA fan, but heathenism I can get behind in a major way. I'd call myself an atheist, but I think "apathetic" is a better word.

I love going to IKEA!!! My faves are the lingonberries and elderberry flower syrup - just a drop in water makes a loverly refreshing summer drink! Maybe, maybe you could play the last half of Handel's Messiah in the car on your way home...isn't that Easter-like?

After a while, those concrete floors are going to make you wish you were in church instead! I, instead of going to IKEA, did go to church - but only because my choir had to sing - and endured an hour and a half, including my botched but melodic sightread solo, of utter hard-on-the-back tedium.

IKEA opened in Austin this year. I have so far resisted their siren's call...but once we buy that house, oooooh, I will worship at the altar of their umlaut-y goodness.

Smed, there's no doubt that shopping is its own religion. Claudia, if you want to schlep it home on your return from Chicago this summer, we could probably work something out. DJ, I'm not sure I'm an IKEA fan either, but I always think I am before I go there. I find its particular brand of capitalism for the people seductive. I mean, I bought a bag of rocks for 69 cents yesterday. Enough said. Elgan, thanks. Teranika, we ODed on lingonberry drinks yesterday. We settled on The Shins for driving music, but I'll try to make up for it with some Messiah today. Kelley, I know what you mean about the floors, but I'm always better in motion than sitting in a wooden church pew. Sightreading solos? Yikes. And Laura, I love that they go beyond Umlauts to whatever it is they call the little circle over the As. Obscure punctuation? Take my money! Please!

Harriet, I use obscure punctuation (though generally not for its intended purposes) at work often enough that I have a keyboard shortcut for that little circle. Oh yes. DJ says he's not a big fan of Ikea, but where else can you get meatballs, curtains, a living room set for $8, and furniture that needs to be assembled with tools that aren't sold anywhere?
