It seems to me that you are in a very good place to be. You obviously have absorbed the stuff that is the basis of your dissertation. You also have a sense of where you want to go beyond the boundaries of the current knowledge on the subject -- which suggests that you have many research ideas at your fingertips to choose from. To me, that seems like a good place to be.

I agree with Geek. Also if you really respect the session chair, maybe you could open a dialog with her about what you intend to present. If she seems willing, perhaps she would look at a draft. In my field this is common practice, and might even lead in future to a nice collaboration.

I'm catching up on my reading today so while this comment is "late" I just had to say, it makes me laugh to read you are pulling anything out of your ass. Also, I firmly believe that the more we know, the more aware we are of what we don't know. It takes a bit of knowledge to be aware of our own ignorance!
