Mishandled

We spent an inordinate amount of time this morning in search of new handles for our kitchen cabinets, a tricky project because the cabinets have these weird decorative hinges that go with nothing. After dragging an angelic AJ hither in yon in search of hardware, not only did we find the Holy Grail, but they had all 44 in stock. Instant gratification!

In celebration we went in search of top notch sushi (since we were near one of my favorite places to obtain it) and drove to my mother-in-laws to make sure AJ got to do something he wanted to do. I cant think of anything more boring for a three-year-old than spending several hours looking at cabinet hardware. We were feeling pleased with our find and productive, so we squandered the rest of the day with assorted relatives and drove home victorious in the dark, encountering a Christmas parade and lots of festive lights along the way.

But when we got home, we discovered we had a problem. The handles were not the size they claimed to be, but a crucial 1/8 inch larger. They do not fit. Back to the drawing board. We are drowning our sorrows with comfort food (scrambled eggs) and fancy French wine, a recent gift. Tomorrow is another day.
